West Bengal Police Department released a notification on March 7^th 2024 for recruitment in West Bengal Police Post,  There are 8212 posts for male candidates and 3537 for female candidates, total vacancy 11749. .All those applicant  must have 10^th passed exam of west Bengal board of secondary education.

West Bengal Police Constable Recruitment 2024

WBP Recruitment Board  released a recruitment notice for the constable posts in West Bengal Police. The Recruitment notification indicates the department will fill 11749 vacancies. 

West Bengal Police Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification

The applicant must have passed 10^th Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its 10^th +2 or its equivalent from a recognized board. 

Language of West Bengal Police

The candidate  must be able to speak, read and write in Bengali language. Not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-division.  

West Bengal Police 2024 Age Limit

The applicant must 18 years old and maximum 30 years old as on 01.01.2024.

•   5 years in case of SC and Scheduled Tribes candidates.
•   3 years in case of OBC - A and OBC - B candidates.
•  5 years in case of Civic Volunteers/ Village Police Volunteers serving in West Bengal Police only.
•  Ex-servicemen 5 years.

West Bengal Police Registration Fee 

•  SC/ ST Candidates of WB: Rs.20/-
•  OBC Candidates and All Other Candidates: Rs.170/-
•  Pay fee through online mode.

WBP Constable Selection Process 2024

Selection process for the post of Constable in West Bengal Police consists of four stages, which are

4.    Mains and Interview.

1.    Prelims:

•  Mode: Offline (Written Exam)
  
•  Duration: 1 hour
  
• Total Questions: 100
• Total Marks: 100
•  Marking Scheme: Each question will carries 1 mark.
  
•  Medium: English and Bengali
  
•  Sections:

1. General Awareness and Knowledge: 40 questions for 40 marks.
2. Elementary Mathematics: 30 questions for 30 marks.
3. Reasoning: 30 questions for 30 marks

Constable (Male):

                 Height : 167 cm
                Weight : 57 kg
                 Chest : 78 cm. without expansion and 83 cm. with expansion – 5 cm.

 
Gorkhas, Garhwali's, Rajbanshi, and Scheduled Tribes (Male):
                 Height :160 cm
                Weight : 53 kg
                Chest : 76 cm. Without expansion and 81 cm. with expansion – 5 cm.
 
Lady Constable:

                  Height: 160 cm
                  Weight: 49 kg
 
Gorkhas, Garhwali's, Rajbanshi, and Scheduled Tribes (Female):
                    Height :152 cm
           Weight : 45 kg
 
3.    PMT

 Constable (Male):
                 1600 meters distance run in 6 minutes 30 seconds.

 Lady Constable:
                 800 meters run in 4 minutes 30 seconds.
 
4.    Mains Exam

•  Mode: Offline (Written Exam)
•  Duration: 1 hour
•  Total Questions: 85
• Total Marks: 85
•  Marking Scheme: Each question will carries 1 mark.
• Medium: English and Bengali
•  Sections:

1. General Awareness and Knowledge : 25 questions for 25 marks.
2.  English: 10 questions for 10 marks.
3.  Elementary Mathematics: 25 questions for 25 marks.
4. Reasoning & Logical Analysis: 25 questions for 25 marks.

Interview is final step of selection process. it's basis interview for the final selection of candidates.
